government warnings and recommendations for suntan bed facilities and users
The guidance is in two parts. The first contains general information
for people who have responsibility for the day-to-day operations where
UV tanning facilities are available and the second contains specific advice
for customers. The information for customers takes account of current expert
medical opinion and has been endorsed by the Department of Health as part
of the Health of the Nation initiative.

Toxicology Program) ADVISORY GROUP MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NINTH REPORT
ON CARCINOGENS:
An advisory group reviewing data on substances proposed for the federal
government’s Report on Carcinogens, Ninth Edition, today recommended that
ultraviolet light, whether from sunlight or an artificial source such as
tanning booths and tanning beds, be listed as "known to be a human
carcinogen."
